VALLADOLID / 30 September 2026

On 30 September, Santiago Quesada takes part as a speaker in the virtual round table “Teaching Universal Accessibility in Architecture“, an event conceived to reflect collectively on how this subject is currently taught in university schools and what improvements urgently need to be introduced in the classroom.

The debate addresses the teaching of accessibility through a direct appraisal: analysing in which subjects, areas of knowledge and in what depth it is covered, paying particular attention to how the E34 competence (ability to remove architectural barriers) is integrated. Far from being a closed discussion, the session is designed as a reflection among lecturers, open to the entire academic community—both teaching staff and students—as well as the general public.

The session, moderated by José Mª Jové Sandoval (University of Valladolid), also features contributions from Vicente López Mateu (Polytechnic University of Valencia), Ángel B. Comeras Serrano (San Jorge University), Delfín Jiménez Martín (ASEPAU) and Rosa Bellido Pla (University of Valladolid), organised with the collaboration of ETSA Valladolid and ASEPAU, among other institutions.

This initiative is an essential step towards sharing experiences, identifying shortcomings, and establishing design for all as a transversal foundation in the training of future architects.
