MÁLAGA / 29th and 30th of March 2023
RESEARCHERS FROM THE ‘HEALTHY ARCHITECTURE & CITY’ GROUP PRESENT A DOMOTIC HOUSE FOR PEOPLE WITH FUNCTIONAL DIVERSITY AT TECNOSOCIAL 2023
Researchers from the Healthy Architecture & City research group (HAC-TEP965) of the School of Architecture of the University of Seville, together with researchers from the Brain Health Unit (CIMES) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Malaga, present in collaboration with the CRMF of San Fernando of the IMSERSO, the experience of a Domotic House for people with functional diversity and reduced mobility problems. The initiative is part of the dissemination activities of the DETER research project, financed by the Junta de Andalucía, with FEDER funds, and the R+D+i ALZARQ project, financed by the State Research Plan of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
The Domotic House helps users to have more autonomy and security, it is an experience that has been developed and applied since 2001. Its aim is to increase independence in the functional and instrumental activities of daily life of the inhabitants of the house. The flexible and programmable nature of this house has allowed the system to be constantly adapted according to the functional limitations of the tenants. Once the house has been adapted to the requirements demanded, the users feel comfortable and safe in their environment. The use of emerging technology, integrated into the architecture, has enabled people with functional diversity to live independently, more safely and have greater control over their environment.
The first pilot experience was put into practice in September 1998, when a home automation demonstrator was created, consisting of a model of a house in which a programmable automaton had been installed. Based on the conclusions and results obtained, the solutions experimented were put into practice, and the adaptation of a real home located in the town of San Fernando (Cádiz), within the premises of the Centre for the Recovery of the Physically Disabled, dependent on the IMSERSO, Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030.
This Centre has achieved a unique experience of coexistence in which groups of people with functional diversity have participated, learning to be independent. The experience of the CRMF of San Fernando is an example of the commitment that public institutions have with people and the commitment to the social integration of groups with physical and cognitive diversity, as well as being a reference for other centres and for society in general.
The programming used in La Casa Domótica has received second award at the ‘Matelec 2022’ electronics fair.
On the occasion of the TECNOSOCIAL 2023 event, a VIDEO showing the real experience of this Domotic House has been presented. It will be shown at the OTRI stand in the Plaza de la Merced in Malaga on 29 and 30 March, from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00, and in the town of Guaro on 31 March, from 11.00 to 14.00 hours.
