The aim of this training workshop, organised by the Healthy Architecture & City research group, within the activities of the DETER and ALZARQ projects and validable in the Doctoral Programme in Architecture, is to acquire the necessary skills to learn how to use GIS. For this purpose, free software will be used, specifically QGIS, one of the most demanded open source desktop GIS clients nowadays. In the course we will start working from scratch the concepts of GIS using QGIS technology, but at the end of the course you will be able to generate your own geographic analysis, make maps, or consult the different sources of geographic information that are available. The total duration of the course: 48 hours (theory + practice + online class).
This activity can be validated as ‘Formative Activity AF4‘ in the Doctorate Programme in Architecture of the University of Seville. In order to obtain the certificate of attendance and achievement, a minimum attendance of 80% and the completion of the indicated practices will be required.
