The Healthy Architecture & City research group has published the first issue of a set of informative guides that present practical advice and architectural recommendations for the appropriate design of living environments and spaces for people with Alzheimer’s disease. The objective of the guides is to indicate the main elements that it is advisable to implement to spatially and environmentally stimulate users with this condition and, in addition, to have more autonomy in their decision-making, better perform the instrumental activities of daily life, and, consequently, live with a higher quality of life.
The first four guides will have the following content:
- Recommendations and practical advice to adapt the house (download >>>)
- Residence care centres for people with Alzheimer’s Disease (download >>>)
- Recommendations for day centres facilities
- Strategies and policies established in different international dementia plans
