Andrés Santamaría is an Professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Seville and a member of the Laboratory of Human Activity. His research has been focused on the relationship between sociocultural practices, especially formal schooling, and cognitive processes. He has conducted research on thinking and speech, memory strategies, narrative, autobiographical memory and self-construal. His recent research concerns the cultural construction of autobiographical memory, cultural gender construction and the relationship between autobiographical memories and cultural self-construals. He has published works in different journals such as Memory Studies, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Cross-Cultural Research, Gender & Education, Theory & Psychology, Journal of Constructivist Psychology, and so on.
