CataNa: Metal Nanoparticle Catalysis is located at the Instituto of Chemical Research (IIQ), a mixed research center of CSIC and the University of Seville. The aim of our research team is to synthesize metal nanoparticles through the organometallic approach, controlling size, shape and metal composition. We are also interested in exploring these metal nanoparticles as novel efficient catalysts in reactions of interest (e.g. biomass valorization). In addition, our research is now centered on magnetically induced heating which is based on the use of eddy currents and/or hysteresis losses produced in a ferromagnetic material by the presence of high-frequency alternating magnetic fields. Therefore, our research program covers the areas of organometallic chemistry, metal nanoparticle catalysis and magnetically induced heating.
