PhD. University of Seville, Spain 1989.

Santiago Mateos received his PhD. in Cellular Biology from University of Seville where we worked in Felipe Cortés´s Lab. Studying The Repair of Chromosome Damage during the G2 Phase of The Cell Cycle in Plants and Animal Cells. His post-doctoral fellowship was at School of Biological and Medical Sciences, Division of Cell and Molecular Biology at The University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland with Dr. Peter Bryant, where he studied The molecular processes involved in the genetic and cytogenetic effects of radiation. Also he was a Human Capital and Mobility Research fellow at The Institute of Cancer Research in London with professor´s G.G. Steel and T.J. McMillan where he studied cellular radiosensitivity and DNA damage in different human tumour cell lines.

He has been Assistant Professor at University of Seville from 1989 to 2000. Nowadays, he is Reader in Cell Biology at the Department of Cell Biology of the University of Seville, in Seville , Spain.
