B.S.c. University of Seville, Spain 2003
PhD. University of Seville, Spain 2006

Gloria Cantero was undergraduate student in Felipe Cortés’ Lab for one year in 2002 where she collaborated in the “Assessment of the genotoxic damage by the comet assay in Birds after the Doñana ecological disaster”.

In 2006 she received her PhD from University of Sevilla working on “ the presence of anomalous bases, such us halogenated pyrimidines or demethylated cytosines in DNA to modify the catalytic activity of the nuclear enzyme Topoisomerase II. Her studies seem to support that the presence of anomalous bases in DNA are able to induce endoreduplication to different degrees as a result of failure in chromosome segregation:.”.

Currently she is Assistant Researcher in Cell Biology.
