Associate Professor at the University of Seville. Her research focuses on English historical dialectology, Scots, and Northern English.
She graduated in English Philology and obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Seville in 1994, specializing in Older Scots. She was granted research scholarships in Glasgow and Edinburgh in 1992 and 1993, where she was in contact with prestigious scholars such as A. J. Aitken, Jeremy Smith, Keith Williamson and Graham Caie.
