The Health & Territory Research (HTR) group at the University of Seville will hold the I International Symposium on Environmental Justice in European Cities, an event dedicated to analyzing the relationship between social vulnerability in neighborhoods and environmental conditions in the urban context, as well as their impact on population wellbeing. The event is part of the GreenAndCITIES excellence project (PROYEXCEL_00566), funded by the Andalusian Regional Government’s Ministry of University, Research and Innovation, which focuses on studying the distribution of greenery in neighborhoods of Andalusian cities and its impact on wellbeing and phenomena such as heat islands.
The symposium will bring together international experts such as Dr Kevin Credit (Maynooth University, Ireland), Dr Carmen Anthonj (University of Twente, Netherlands), Dr S. M. Labib (Utrecht University, Netherlands) and Dr Anna Bornioli (ISGlobal, Barcelona). It will also be attended by the highest representatives of the City Council of Seville in the areas of social welfare and parks and gardens, as well as representatives of an organisation that works with the most vulnerable people.
