The diagnostic delay of the 2652 patients belonging to 13 European countries belonging to the European map of axial spondyloarthritis (EMAS) was 7.4 years. Furthermore, this diagnostic delay was associated with younger age at symptom onset, female gender, a higher number of visits to specialists before diagnosis and being diagnosed by a rheumatologist.
