The costs of 475 migraine patients in Spain were analyzed, resulting in a total annual cost of €16,578.2 for patients with chronic migraine and €6,227.8 for patients with episodic migraine. In addition, a higher degree of disability, according to MIDAS, significantly increased the total cost of migraine, while the presence of psychiatric comorbidity increased costs only for patients with episodic migraine.
