After the Cypriot League Against Rheumatism (CYPLAR), the patient association leading the Cypriot part of the REUMAVID project, sent the first press release with the main findings of the REUMAVID study to the media, TV channels contacted them to interview them about the study and its objectives.
Souzi Makri, President of CYPLAR and partner and patient investigator of the REUMAVID study, appeared on two TV channels, namely ALPHA TV and PLUS TV, during their midday program. In the interview, she was asked about the number of countries and organizations that participated in the launch of the survey, the number of participants, the stakeholders, the objectives of the survey and the main findings showing the impact of the pandemic on the health status of patients with rheumatic diseases.
Specifically, journalists wanted to know the main consequences of the pandemic on people living with rheumatic diseases and their well-being, the concerns and worries of patients and how they were addressed. In addition, they asked about the role of patient organizations in times of the pandemic, whether patients turned to them for information, support and guidance, and what measures patient organizations took to support their members.
