INHERIT 2018 – Adapting how we live, move and consume: European practices for sustainable lifestyles and health equity
21 November 2018 | Viena, Austria
The INHERIT YOUR FUTURE forum aimed to connect and showcase inspiring initiatives from across the EU in three key areas of health and equity promotion:
- Living (indoor/outdoor quality environments)
- Moving around (healthy lifestyles)
- Consumption (healthy diets)
Underlying the discussion was the need to consider the issue of scalability, or how to scale up and incorporate practices from the local level to the regional and national levels. As such, the Forum showcased the results of INHERIT to date; encouraged exchange between promising practices to further explore how they can contribute to health, equity and the environment; and fostered debate on how such initiatives can be implemented on a wider scale across Europe.
All the initiatives presented during the Forum were chosen for their ability to achieve INHERIT’s “triple win” of simultaneously improving environmental sustainability, health and health equity, and were presented together with the 4 positive future scenarios for a healthier and more sustainable Europe by 2040.
