Project: Assessment of the Effects of COVID-19 Confinement on Population Well-Being and Mental Health (GreenCOVID)
GreenCOVID is a scientific initiative led by the Health & Territory Research group of the University of Seville, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Winchester and the National University of Ireland Maynooth, which is being carried out in Spain, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Objectives
The study aims to provide an international perspective to understand the impact of confinement, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on well-being and mental health. Specifically, GreenCOVID aims to assess how restrictions on contact with nature and green spaces, which have prevented basic activities such as going for walks, visiting public parks, natural spaces or going to the beach, have affected well-being.
To this end, a population-based survey has been designed, based on the current situation and the experience accumulated by Health & Territory Research, which was launched on April 8, 2020 in Spain and from June 3, 2020 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Participants
Health & Territory Research Group of the University of Seville, Prof. Denise Hewlett of the University of Winchester and Prof. Ronan Foley of the National University of Ireland Maynooth.
