Atlas of Axial Spondyloarthritis in Spain 2017. Radiography of the disease
Currently, there is a wealth of information on Spondyloarthritis, from a clinical point of view and on the most appropriate drug treatments. However, there is a shortage of information regarding legislation and planning, existing resources for treatment, reasons for delayed diagnosis, physical limitations, psychological state of patients, work situation, productivity losses and costs associated with disease management.
The Atlas of Axial Spondyloarthritis in Spain 2017: Radiography of the Disease is an initiative born from CEADE, carried out by the Health & Territory Research Group (HTR) of the University of Seville, the Max Weber Institute and has the collaboration of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER), the Rheumatology League and Novartis.
The present proposal aims to develop an analysis of the situation of people with axSpA in Spain, creating a document that deepens the knowledge of the disease and provides new evidence aimed at improving the care and quality of life of patients.
This report is based on the evaluation of the situation of people with axSpA through a survey of patients, the opinion of experts, and the analysis of various sources of information and indicators. All this allows a global approach to reality and to the most appropriate types of treatment, in order to establish proposals and recommendations aimed at improving the quality of life of patients with axSpA.
