AES 2019 – XXXIX Conference of the Health Economics Association

The theme of this conference was an invitation to reflect on the role and usefulness of benchmarking and competition by comparison as mediators of improvements in quality and sustainability in the health system, discussing to what extent public information and transparency effectively impact on patients’ choice decisions, as well as on the performance of the health system, both in terms of quality and efficiency and ultimately on the health of the population. Therefore, experts on topics that have been present in previous Conferences and that continue to arouse great interest in Health Economics attended.
