A total of 2166 patients with axial spondyloarthritis belonging to the EMAS study were evaluated. Of these patients, 60.7% reported mental problems, especially in those patients with higher disease activity, with anxiety and depression, those who were unemployed or on sick leave, those with greater functional limitation and younger patients.
