Description

The main expertise of the group is in the development of predictive controllers, which encompasses the four main research lines. In particular we are focused on the stable and robust design of predictive controllers in regulation and tracking, economic optimization, learning based predictive control.

The group has also experience in the development of tailored optimization solvers, allowing us to implement predictive controllers in industrial embedded systems such as regular PLCs and microcontrollers.

Guaranteed estimation based on interval algebra, zonotopes algebra and DC programming have been used to derive algorithms for estimation, identification and data reconciliation.

Model-based techniques based on nonlinear fault detection and isolation, filters and mixed model- and data-based fault detection and isolation techniques have also been studied.

GEPOC group has experience on the implementation of advanced estimation and control systems in HVAC systems, Water Distribution Networks, Power systems and process industry, among others.
