Julia Jiménez, PhD student at MadresUP and psychologist at the Spanish Red Cross, took part in the round table discussion “Migrant Women”, organised by the Seville City Council as part of the activities held on the occasion of 8 March, International Women’s Day.
As part of the MadresUP team, Julia Jiménez had the opportunity to disseminate, in an open space in the Alameda de Hércules in Seville, the experiences of migrant mothers of African origin who are cared for in the two reception centres run by the Red Cross in the city. These experiences were compiled through in-depth interviews and the Photovoice technique, offering valuable information on the challenges these women face in the exercise of their motherhood.
