 ABSTRACT:

Nowadays, the excessive urban energy consumption is a persistent problem that has begun to be answered by the use of strategies that especially affect buildings and their energy efficiency. However, when urban actions are carried out, very few strategies consider this matter. However, there are many research projects which study the use of strategies that take into account the connection between urban design and energy consumption. Therefore, due to the important influence of urbanism on energy efficiency and especially on lighting energy consumption in buildings, this paper analyzes an urban scene, located in a warm climate region, and the influence of some urban strategies on a building façade daylight exposure. In this paper, the reflection coefficients of urban pavement are modified. According to the present scene, where urban rehabilitation has priority over new urban developments, an existing urban scene is chosen as a case study, although strategies can be applied also to new developments.
