ABSTRACT:

Current energy policies focus on building energy retrofitting as the only way to achieve Horizon 2020 aims, especially concerning Spanish residential stock, constructed before the first obligatory regulation for thermal conditions in buildings: NBE CT 79. Due to the large number of parameters involved in evaluating the building's environmental behavior and the lack of information on housing's current state and its real operational conditions, prediction of energy behavior using simulation software shows discrepancies. Housing monitoring in hourly intervals under occupation and building energy model calibration become essential for a better understanding of real energy and environmental behavior of residential building stock. The aim of this paper is to show the calibration process of these models, based on data obtained from monitoring the housing's current state over a year. The case study is a residential group of dwellings built in the 1950s in Seville (southern Spain, with a Mediterranean climate), a complex of national heritage interest.
