ABSTRACT:
The Maestranza Theatre is the most emblematic concert hall in the city of Seville and was built for the Universal Exhibition in 1992. Its stage is very extensive and is of flexible configuration in accordance with the performance to take place. In this paper, a 3D geometrical-acoustic model of the space is applied in order to analyse the acoustic conditions for the performers on the stage, by means of CATT-TUCT software. This simulation enables the distribution of the support parameters, ST, to be studied for three commonly used configurations: with the orchestral shell; with an extension of the orchestra platform towards the stalls; and for opera arrangements.
