Isabel Cuerda del Valle (ICV)

FPI pre-doctoral researcher in the Department of Building Structures and Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Seville (US). She is currently pursuing her PhD as part of the national R+D project SAFE-HERITAGE (PID2023-150771OB-I00), which aims to develop advanced methodologies for the structural safety and seismic assessment of heritage buildings. Her research focuses on the historical analysis of the seismic vulnerability of the Bell Tower of Córdoba’s Mosque-Cathedral.

She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degrees in Architecture from the University of Seville, graduating with honours in 2024. Her academic career has been distinguished with the 1st National Prize “Tu Proyecto: Tu Ciudad” (SACYR Chair, 2021) as well as an Academic Excellence Grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education (2019–2024). She has also completed international training at the University of Bologna and YACademy, where she attended a high-level course on heritage intervention, reflecting her strong interest in the conservation of cultural heritage. She has disseminated her work through workshops, exhibitions and conferences in Seville, Lisbon, Bologna, Barcelona and Pamplona.
