Duration: 2020-2023
Summary: A conceptual design is carried out for a biomass gasification process assisted by solar thermal energy for H₂ production with CO₂ capture. CO₂ capture is achieved using calcium-based sorbents, and different strategies are studied for employing solar thermal energy to provide the heat required for sorbent calcination. Additionally, an experimental study of cyclic gasification-carbonation tests is conducted to optimize the operating conditions in the calciner, ensuring that the sorbent activity is maintained throughout the cycles.
