International Biolaw is a Public Research Body held by the Regional Government of Andalusia, hosted in the University of Seville (SEJ -504) which main purpose is doing research on juridical issues sourrounding Life Sciences in Europe from a multidisciplinar, integrative and transversal approach.
It is followed a multidisciplinar approach, firstly, aiming to overlap the limits for juridical research only from a branch of Law (Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Bioethics, International Law, etc.) It is preferred, on the contrary, a comprehensive and integrative perspective of analysis from as many fields of Law as possible.
Secondly, it is assumed a transversal approach by considering regional, national and international level of implications of public and private actors in these issues. It is paid particular attention to European obligations for Spain under European Union and the Organization of the Council of Europe.
Finally, it is defended an integrative approach by
which it is preferred to deal with all questions related to Life
Sciences and Law and not only focus on “major questions” such as the
dialectic between the pros and cons of human research on human embryos
from religious or moral premises.
