Capturing Lines in Motion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beginning Figure Drawing class had the opportunity to draw directly from observation dancers at the COS Dance Studios. Collaborative dialogue, exchange of the formal elements of art transcended through the expression of dance and drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital Interface with Hand Printing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These exercises explore various filters through which digital language is rendered into a more tangible result. The prints among this group incorporate an element of digital interface. The photo lithograph utilized digital drawing followed by digital inkjet print outputs of subsequent layers on clear film. Then the films were transferred to a light sensitive lithography plate that was ultimately rolled in colors by hand and printed on a traditional printing press. The screen print was the result of laser printed digital outputs on paper that is rendered translucent by rubbing oil into the printed paper. The translucent papers were then transferred to a light sensitive printing screen. Then ink was pulled through the screen by hand to create hand pulled prints. The laser engraved woodcut is the result of a digital image that is engraved onto wood using a digital engraving machine. Following the digital engraving process, the wood block was inked using a hand inking roller and printed on a traditional printing press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students developed a lot of team projects using a wide range of emerging technologies as if we were in a real lab in the class ‘Introduction to Digital Art’<\/em>, during Spring 2024. Among others, we worked with Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Software, MacBooks Pro, iPads, Digital Cameras, Headphones, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
