Following their recent training, the group of Romany Mentor Mothers has carried out its first accompaniment process aimed at other mothers in the community. Between 20 November and 5 December, a total of ten Romany mothers took part in this intervention process, consisting of six sessions of three hours each.
The sessions took place in the Polígono Sur, generating a close and accessible environment that facilitated the active participation of the mothers. Under the guidance and support of the Mentor Mothers, the group worked on key aspects related to self-care, support networks and the strengthening of personal and community capacities.
The intervention has made it possible to create a space of trust in which to share experiences, identify common needs and promote strategies that favour well-being. The work of the Mentor Mothers has been fundamental for the process to acquire an approach that is culturally sensitive and adjusted to the realities of the territory.
