Convivencia with Latina mothers: strengthening the community and our support networks

On 31 October, the MadresUP team held a day of coexistence at the Arrupe Centre, led and energised by the Latina Mentor Mothers. The activity was attended by the mothers who accompany them during the intervention programme, many of them with their children and even some with their partners, creating a family atmosphere.

The afternoon was a space for meeting, exchange and collective enjoyment. Families shared conversations, games and moments of connection that favoured a close and welcoming atmosphere. The children were looked after by our volunteers who prepared games and activities to offer them the best time.

Beyond the social gathering, the convivencia allowed for the visibility and celebration of Latin American cultural roots, strengthened ties between mothers and expanded their mutual support networks. The activity contributed to the social and cultural reconnection among the participants, reinforcing their fundamental role within the community fabric.

With this initiative, MadresUP continues to promote safe, inclusive and participatory spaces where mothers can share their experiences, strengthen their capacities and build community together.
