Mothers accompanying mothers, building community!
From 2 to 26 June, twice a week, a new phase of the MadresUP programme will take place at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Seville, focused on strengthening the resilience and empowerment of a group of 14 African mothers currently living in Seville.
This intervention is mainly led by previously trained mentor mothers, women with experience in the programme who are fluent in the participants’ languages of origin, which favours closeness, trust and intercultural communication. Mentor mothers play a key role as positive role models and facilitators of change.
The process is accompanied by the CESPYD team, and has as its motto “Strengthening the Psychosocial Well-being of Mothers”, reflecting the objective of strengthening social support among participants, promoting contact with the host community and increasing their levels of well-being.
