Gloria Lopera Uribe, PhD student in Social Sciences at the Pablo de Olavide University and a valuable collaborator of the MadresUP team, presented the project “Círculos de Crianza”, a proposal for Parenting Education in the field of Public Health from a perspective based on Popular Education. This project was carried out with the support of the research group “Salud y Sociedad: Línea de Crianza, Niñez, Familia y Educación para la Salud” of the University of Antioquia (Colombia), with mothers displaced by the Colombian internal armed conflict.
With the presentation of our colleague Gloria, we have been able to reflect on the importance of planning community actions while maintaining a contextualised, critical and emancipatory approach. Thus, this experience has enriched our knowledge on Parenting Education in the most vulnerable contexts and has enriched the intervention perspective of MadresUP.
