Community Gathering with Latin American Mothers: “Strengthening Our Support Networks”

On May 2nd, in Seville, we held a very special gathering with the Latin American mothers participating in the MadresUP project. The session, titled “Strengthening Our Support Networks (Living Together in Community)”, was part of the ongoing community intervention process. Its main objective was to strengthen the relationships among mothers by creating a friendly environment with group activities that foster interaction and a sense of community.

Mothers and their children took part in the session, which included a variety of fun and engaging activities designed to encourage creativity, teamwork, and connection. The agenda included:

  • Welcome and physical warm-up
  • Team formation and creative badge making
  • Charades and Pictionary: Guess the Movie or Song
  • Shared snack time
  • Reflective closing and group evaluation

The enthusiastic participation of both mothers and children helped create a joyful and welcoming atmosphere. This gathering not only offered a space for enjoyment and shared experiences but also contributed to building a strong support network among the participants, which is a core element of the MadresUP community-based approach.

We continue to move forward, step by step, creating safe and meaningful spaces for the mothers who are part of this project.
