On Tuesday 14th May in the Aula de Grado of the Faculty of Psychology we welcomed Rita Kapinga, professor at the University of Mbujimayi (Democratic Republic of Congo). Rita met with the MadresUP team to discuss her lecture entitled “Current situation of women in the Democratic Republic of Congo”. We also had the invaluable help of Prof. Lisbeth Paillacho from the Faculty of Tourism and Finance of the University of Seville, who acted as translator.

For the MadresUP team, it was an opportunity to learn first-hand about the social reality experienced by mothers and their children in the Democratic Republic of Congo, offering us valuable information to better understand the starting point of some mothers of African origin who subsequently reside in Spain.
