La semana pasada participamos en la primera conferencia FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE dedicada a jóvenes investigadores y estudiantes predoctorales bajo el lema: "Cómo la tecnología expande las fronteras de la biomedicina". Se celebró en Sevilla, en el Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla (IBiS) y las instalaciones del Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío (HUVR) durante los días 16, 17 y 18 de noviembre https://enablenetwork.eu/seville-2022/.

La organización fue ejemplar y la experiencia única para las jóvenes investigadoras de nuestro grupo, que asistieron a novedosas ponencias, workshops y actividades investigadores.

Presentamos el póster titulado "CB2 agonist-nanocarrier targeting VCAM-1 as selective delivery system for atherosclerosis" en el cual expusimos parte de nuestro trabajo sobre cómo nanopartículas selectivas de cannabinoides mejoraron su efecto anti-inflamatorio en el tratamiento de la aterosclerosis. Este póster muestra parte de los resultados del de un proyecto de investigación financiado por los fondos FEDER-US.

La investigadora Lucía Martín-Navarro recibió el primer PREMIO AL MEJOR PÓSTER, siendo galardonado con el premio "IUBMB Life Poster Award". Estamos muy orgullosos y agradecidos por este reconocimiento, algo que nos impulsa a seguir trabajando.

En I+D Nanomed continuaremos investigando la aplicación de nanosistemas de cannabinoides CB2 para tratar la aterosclerosis gracias a la financiación recibida del Plan Nacional 2021 para el desarrollo de un agente nanoaterganóstico.

Last week we participated in the First FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference 2022 THE PERFECT TANDEM: How technology expands the frontiers of biomedicine, dedicated to young researchers and PhD students. It was held in Seville, at the Institute of Biomedicine Seville (IBiS) and the facilities of the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital (HUVR) on November 16, 17 and 18 https://enablenetwork.eu/seville-2022/.

The organization was exemplary and the experience was amazing for the young researchers in our group, who attended innovative presentations, workshops and research activities.

We contributed with the poster entitled "CB2 agonist-nanocarrier targeting VCAM-1 as selective delivery system for atherosclerosis". This work is financed by FEDER-US. This work shows part of the results of this project and shows how selective CB2 cannabinoid nanoparticles improved their anti-inflammatory effect in treating atherosclerosis.

Researcher Lucía Martín-Navarro received the FIRST BEST POSTER AWARD, being awarded with the "IUBMB Life Poster Award". We are very proud and grateful for this recognition, something that encourages us to continue working.

Nanomed I+D we will continue to investigate the application of CB2 cannabinoid nanosystems to treat atherosclerosis thanks to the funding received from the 2021 Plan Nacional for the development of a nano-theranostic agent.
