Coinciding with World Alzheimer’s Day<\/strong>,<\/span> Diario de Sevilla<\/i><\/strong><\/a> published a feature in its 21 September<\/strong> edition highlighting some of the findings that the Healthy Architecture & City<\/strong><\/a> research group has achieved in its projects aimed at improving the quality of life of people living with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as their carers and families. It also reports on the prototype of:<\/div>\n
A smart home adapted to the needs of people with cognitive impairment<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
This is a prototype developed in virtual reality, allowing users to visualise various home adaptations tailored to the specific needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.<\/span> It is one of the innovative knowledge-transfer outcomes delivered by the national research project ALZARQ over the past three years. The prototype investigates how to adapt the domestic environment by applying several criteria and guidelines from recent regulations on cognitive accessibility, namely Law 6\/2022 and Royal Decree 193\/2023.
