The Global Alzheimer\u2019s Summit <\/strong>took place from 18 to 22 September 2017 in Lisbon (Portugal) at the Champalimaud Foundation<\/strong> with the support of the Reina Sof\u00eda Foundation<\/strong>. This key meeting about the Alzheimer\u2019s illness is based on two main pillars: the social and healthcare Research<\/strong> branch organised by the State Reference Centre for Alzheimer\u2019s and other forms of dementia <\/strong>(CREA), part of IMSERSO and the Scientific <\/strong>branch organised by the Foundation of the Neurological Illnesses Research Centre<\/strong> (CIEN) and the Biomedical Research Centre in Network in Neurodegenerative Illnesses <\/strong>(CIBERNED).<\/p>\n Innovative experiences related to the use of non-pharmacological therapies and attention focusing on people were shown, with the aim of promoting social and healthcare research and normalising the daily life of people with dementia and their families. This forum, which accommodated the most relevant experts and researchers on an international level, looks to respond to professionals as well as caregivers about how to improve the quality of life of people who live with Alzheimer\u2019s disease. CRE Alzheimer<\/strong> together with the Reina Sof\u00eda Foundation<\/strong>, intend to bring society closer to the advances of research in the struggle against Alzheimer\u2019s disease and, above all, to pose the evident need of advancing in the search for global solutions and responses.<\/p>\n
