In the specific case of environmental adjustments for people with some type of functional or cognitive diversity, <\/span>Active <\/b>or Ambient and Assisted Living (AAL)<\/b> is an European programme to improve elderly people\u2019s quality of life of and allow them to live as long as possible in their own homes.<\/span><\/p>\n The research that is carried out in this field consists of the\u00a0<\/span>use of intelligent assistance systems that are embedded in different environments and applied to different illnesses or situations of dependence, allowing communication between the system and the user so the device can interact invisibly and anticipatorily with the dependent person<\/b>.\u00a0In this way, assisted spaces can be created that, on an exo-brain basis, provide people with physical, sensory or cognitive functional diversity with a healthier, safer and more comfortable life while granting them greater personal autonomy.<\/span><\/p>\n The researchers in this field are providing a series of architectural solutions to address the specific environmental needs of those with cognitive illnesses. En el caso concreto de los entornos asistidos a personas con alg\u00fan tipo de diversidad funcional o cognitiva lo hace por medio del\u00a0Ambiente de Ayuda Vital o\u00a0Ambient Assisted Living\u00a0(AAL)<\/em><\/strong>, que es un programa europeo cuyo objetivo es mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas mayores y que \u00e9stas vivan el mayor tiempo posible en sus hogares.<\/p> La investigaci\u00f3n que se desarrolla en esta l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n consiste en la\u00a0utilizaci\u00f3n de sistemas inteligentes de asistencia que se localizan embebidos en diferentes entornos y que se aplican a distintas enfermedades o situaciones de dependencia permitiendo la comunicaci\u00f3n entre el sistema y el usuario, de forma que el dispositivo pueda interactuar de manera invisible y anticipatoria con la persona dependiente<\/strong>.\u00a0De esta forma, se pueden generar espacios asistidos que, a modo de exocerebro<\/em>, faciliten a las personas con diversidad funcional f\u00edsica, sensorial o cognitiva, una vida m\u00e1s sana, segura y confortable, a la vez que una mayor autonom\u00eda personal.<\/p> El conocimiento generado est\u00e1 permitiendo aportar resultados en los que aparecen una serie de soluciones arquitect\u00f3nicas que se pueden aplicar en funci\u00f3n de los s\u00edntomas y necesidades demandadas al entorno por el desarrollo y la evoluci\u00f3n de enfermedades.
