Title: Discrete solitons in a one--dimensional Schrödinger equation with a single inhomogeneity
Author: F Palmero (pdf slides 570 Kb)
Abstract: In this talk we will review some recent results, obtained recently in collaboration with the Nonlinear Dynamical Systems at SDSU group, related to nonlinear localization of vibrational energy in spatially discrete systems. In particular, we will analyze the existence, stability and mobility of localized solutions in a one--dimensional system described by the discrete non--linear Schrödinger equation with a point defect. We will focus also in some open problems and future research lines in this area.
