In its more than 1,200 years of existence, the temple has experienced earthquakes of varying intensity, among which stands out the famous Lisbon earthquake on November 1, 1755, which left noticeable marks on the transept.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"908\">Times have evolved, and a 21st-century response is needed for such a scenario. For this reason, on Wednesday, the studies by the <strong data-start=\"684\" data-end=\"750\">Department of Building Structures and Geotechnical Engineering<\/strong> at the <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"808\">Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSA)<\/strong> of Seville will be presented during an event held at the <strong data-start=\"866\" data-end=\"896\">Real C\u00edrculo de la Amistad<\/strong> at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"1360\">Participants in the presentation will include <strong data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"980\">Gabriel Rebollo Puig<\/strong>, restoration architect of the Mosque-Cathedral of C\u00f3rdoba; <strong data-start=\"1040\" data-end=\"1067\">Antonio Morales Esteban<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1069\" data-end=\"1092\">Manuel V\u00e1zquez Boza<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1123\">Emilio Romero S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, all from the Department of Building Structures and Geotechnical Engineering (ETSA), as well as <strong data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1264\">Mar\u00eda Victoria Requena Garc\u00eda de la Cruz<\/strong> from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design at the University of C\u00e1diz.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"1360\">Access to the complete article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eldebate.com\/espana\/la-voz-de-cordoba\/cultura\/20230606\/como-reaccionaria-mezquita-catedral-ante-terremoto_119531.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Higher Technical School of Architecture of Seville prepares a study on a hypothetical earthquake The constant care given to the Mosque-Cathedral naturally includes considering the possibility of an earthquake and how the building would react in such an event.
