Our colleague and professor Jesús Moreno takes part in a project that will provide Artificial Intelligence training to many workers who come from a migrant background in order to help them transition into new labor sectors.
The non-profit organization Programamos has been selected by the Center For Public Impact for receiving funding from Google.org’s AI Opportunity Fund: Europe, as well as specific training to provide workers from vulnerable groups with AI knowledge and tools to boost their career development.
The project will help about a hundred people who belong to racial and migrant minorities in Seville, with a special focus on those who work in agricultural, tourism and hospitality sectors. Programamos will also count with the help of other local organizations, such as Sevilla Negra , to improve job opportunities and boost socioeconomic inclusion in our city.
Jesús Moreno is a professor at ETSII and researcher at Diverso Lab. He is one of the founders of Programamos and currently holds the position of co-director. You can find more information about AI Opportunity Fund here.
At Diverso Lab, we are truly inspired by the work and efforts of Jesús Moreno and Programamos, which will drive innovation for a more inclusive future.
