Distributed electricity generation from fluidized-bed biomass gasification

Summary: The aim of this project is to show that the gas generated in a fluidized-bed biomass gasifier at demonstration scale can be used to generate electricity through combustion in an engine. For this purpose, a cleaning system based on washing with organic solvent which retains the tar of the gasification gas, thereby allowing clean and efficient gas combustion in an engine. The project intends to demonstrate the cleaning system by taking a slipstream (about 10% mass of the total gas) from a semi-commercial fluidized-bed plant (3Mwth).
