Excavations have resumed at the archaeological site of Las Capellan\u00edas (Ca\u00f1averal de Le\u00f3n, Huelva), discovered in June 2022. The September 2023 excavation season is coordinated by Timoteo Rivera Jim\u00e9nez (University of Huelva), Marta D\u00edaz-Guardamino Uribe (University of Durham), David Wheatley (University of Southampton) and Leonardo Garc\u00eda Sanju\u00e1n (University of Seville). The excavations undertaken this year are aimed at providing contextual evidence to understand the social context and chronology of the burials and stelae associated with them.
