Goals

The aim of this Network is to coordinate and consolidate the activities of groups of researchers of several Spanish universities (Autónoma de Madrid, Bilbao-UPV/EHU, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, DeustoTech-Bilbao, Politécnica de Madrid, Politécnica de Cartagena, Sevilla and Vigo), whose interests concern the solution of control and inverse problems for systems governed by diferential equations (ODEs and PDEs) and their applications.

All these groups have developed intensive expertise and a rich network of international collaborators on the subject. These groups have also developed technological transfer activities with companies and industrial organizations that will actively participate in the Network. In Spain, this is the only Network with these characteristics.

A great impact is expected to be produced from the scientific and academic viewpoint  (new high level theoretical and numerical results are expected) and, also, from the viewpoint of applications (the Network  opens the possibility to new interesting university-industry collaborations).

The considered subject-matter is wide and innovative in what respects problems and techniques. At the same time, it is realistic; it addresses, among other objectives, the analysis of improved theoretical and numerical techniques for complex problems of fundamental nature and applications to the control of environmental fluids, the design of optimal therapies in oncology and inverse problems related to image recognition.
